a wearable waterproof

Fabulism creates Chaude Couture by weaving rice straw into a wearable, waterproof raincoat and micro-shelter.

The Berlin-based design office, founded by Giulia Pozzi and Mirko Andolina, is opting for natural methods in raincoat production, opting for plastic. Their goal is to create garments that are both protective and organic. They worked with talented creatives to weave Chaude Couture entirely from rice straw.
The garment’s protective shape is shaped like a dome, covering the wearer’s upper body. The upper part is long and rounded to fit snugly over the wearer’s head, yet avoid the weight of their clothing. Thanks to the natural material, the raincoat is lightweight, can be worn as a fashion statement, and can be seen as a wearable umbrella for rain protection (hence the term “micro-shelter”).
